Ode to Cat

"Come back to bed," he groaned.
She sat facing the door in silence.
"Baby please," turning his face towards her back.
She turned and blinked heavier than a toppling building.
He moaned, closing his eyes.
And she crawled along the floor, stretching her finger tips between the carpet fibers.
"Come here," his smile slid across his face.
She waited for him to close his eyes before one limb at a time rested at the far corner of his bed.
His toes shifted.
But her toes barely brushed his as she lengthened her spine.
He stretched his limbs across the mattress.
Her stomach skimmed his bare skin in her attempt not to wake him.
He rolled over towards her shyness, her cowardly approach.
Her chest tickled his chest hairs.
Her morning breath licked his upper lip.
First her hips, and then her arms, rested onto his forearm.
He kissed her hairline with little hairs snickering in his nose.
Her petite body fit within his corporeal cradle.
He was her lover.
She was his owner.
His free hand danced the rumba at her rump.
And her sweet lips hummed his favorite melody.

She was an acrobat.
She was his cat.
